This Cop Refused To Move His Car That’s Blocking The EMT, What Happened After Taught Him A Valuable Lesson

Disagreement Between Rescuers

They came running back and forth to make absolutely sure they had the appropriate equipment. They were all just looking for the health and welfare of everybody. The wonderful blue and red police vehicles started flashing at the spectators driving down the road. Nevertheless, their vision was not fixed on the car crash. The two rescue services were making an argument with each other insight.

They Blocked Them In

The highway was as limited as it ever has been. But now there were five police vehicles as well as an ambulance, not to take into account all traffic that was attempting to get through. Two EMTs were also on the incident. One tried to stabilize someone who had been harmed, whereas the other looked at the cops with absolute contempt. The cruisers blocked them in.

Their Requests Were Ignored

Troy began running to the sergeant to ask his friends to relocate their cruisers with his companion, already placing the harmed person on the stretcher. The officer looked at the EMT. He looked at his face that seemed to be curdling milk. Eventually, he informed the other officer, after murmuring something under his breath, to relocate their vehicle. It was something they decided to ignore.

Growing Impatient

He even backed away, as Troy was so stunned. Will this man really obstruct and refuse to move their vehicle? The sergeant was not pleased with his deputy and managed to make a beeline for the cruiser. The cruiser’s door was locked. Troy was growing impatient. He said, “We really need to get out now.” He saw that his member was fully prepared in the ambulance getting ready.

What Could Be The Solution?

Troy started to feel his patience getting thin, and his temper was starting to rise. EMTs were given training under the worst circumstances to keep relaxed, but he never trained for this kind of situation. The police should have been there to assist them in their work, not to negatively impact them. He did think they might try to push the thing or break its windows. On the other side of the road, Troy started to notice a tow truck.

Move Away

Troy saw the man was sitting in the truck’s cab, sipping some water. Perhaps he might help them? Troy was thinking. Just after the sergeant had seen what Troy was thinking, he began running to the tow truck and asked the man to assist. The driver said he was called as an additional person after all. They decided to ask him to instantly get the cruiser off the road.

Asking His Drop Rate

“What is your rate of drop?” Troy asked. He labeled his market value, and the sergeant was only able to grin. Troy also began to smile after he saw the sergeant. But they also had tasks to do, so Troy hurried straight into the ambulance and told his companion all of it. And after that, they started to watch what followed.

Rebuke

They looked at the tractor doing its work as the driver latched the cable across the hard juncture and did turn the handle in his cab. They did hear the engine start-up, and it was a loud drone when the front wheels of the cruiser lifted the asphalt. The truck driver then towed it to the grass along the roadside. Then they could see the cop who the cruiser belonged to run into the cab and ask the driver what he thought.

The Car

Troy got to hear the remainder of what occurred just after the sergeant decided to leave. The rookie officer was not, to say the very least, amused by what he was informed. The cop’s face was red as well as angry, and he reprimanded the cab driver for dropping his cruiser right away. The tow driver looked at him and shook his head.

A Hundred Of Dollars

The cab driver eventually answered. He stated, “My drop rate is one-hundred dollars.” “Are you crazy?! Sarg, you’re not going to let him do this, yeah?!” The police officer muttered at the sergeant from the tow truck driver. The sergeant only stared at him and said, “It’s legal to move any vehicles that block emergency services.” The rookie cop did not allow this to actually prevent him from actually attempting to get his vehicle back.

He Paid For It

“I’ll give you forty. That’s it.” The driver leaned against the truck and then shook his head. “Nope. Drop fee is a hundred.” “Fifty.” “A hundred. It will be more if I pull it away.”  The strong-willed guy let out his wallet, frustrated, but defeated, sighed, and managed to pull out of it.

He Was Taught A Lesson

He peeled off his fold for four twenties and placed it on the driver’s hand. When the wheels touched the pavement, as well as the hook came off, the man jumped into his vehicle and squirted away. Eventually, the Sargent loosened and laughed hard. This teachable moment was apparently long-awaited.

Like A Boss

The new man was obviously just on the task for a few weeks. He was just like the rookies-an inflating sense of self-importance and cock-of-the-walk attitude with everybody. This man was a little worse and started acting as though he was running the place. There was another hilarious thing, which had been kept private.

That Law Does Not Exist

The basis (and “law”) used to move the car was indeed wrong. In any way, there has been no rule. The young man didn’t need a hundred to pay. Nevertheless, it was worthwhile to learn from his superiors that police officers are not exempt from the law. What happened to Troy then?

They managed to go to the medical facility, and the wounded people have gotten the treatment they considered necessary in the collision. He, as well as his companion, had a great, long laugh, too. It let out a little stress of the day and did remind them that everyone was a big team, even those you do not even anticipate.

A Thread

Troy was so surprised and delighted by what did happen that he has been forced to share it with Reddit on a thread called “Petty Revenge.” Once again, the stars had connected themselves with the cop. And it was loved by readers. Since then, the post received tons of replies. Many other Redditors could not genuinely think the rookie cop’s audacity and were also impressed. Some decided to share their own similar stories.

One user named “Hammerraptor” did write: “Worked for the local FD a few years back as FF/ EMT. Worked a car accident. We parked the ambulance and truck near the scene. The rookie cop decided didn’t like where the ambulance was parked. Decided to get in and move the ambulance about 150- 200 ft away from the scene out of traffic. Any extra equipment we may have needed and emergency transport that may have been necessary were now minutes away.”

The Firefighter And The Cop

“The chief (55yr female) went to fisticuffs with the cop. Just irate. Had to pull her off the cop. Had the police chief on the scene in 5 minutes. Screaming match ensued for about 20 minutes about the PD, not interfering with our operations. The accident victim was fine, and we were cleared off the scene rather quickly. The PD nicely decided to buy the fire department dinner that night. The chief was not reprimanded and became a good story across the dept,” he added.

And afterward, some other user wrote about yet another event with firefighters and cops. “When I was a volunteer firefighter for several years, I was trained and cleared to operate all of the department’s apparatuses,” he wrote. “One night, we are dispatched to an accident on the nearby interstate. I was operating our 2nd engine as the first was already on a call,” the user said.

They Raised Voices

“The 3 vehicles involved in the accident blocked the left shoulder and the left of 4 main lanes. As protocol to protect the victims and crew, I placed the engine blocking the 2 left lanes. We don’t move until we are finished with the scene. We haven’t even attended to all of the victims, and a trooper comes up telling me that I need to reposition the engine so that he could open up the 3rd lane of traffic. I explained that I needed to protect the victims and my crew until we leave,” the user stated.

“That part of the conversation goes back and for a few times until I walked away to assist at the scene. The trooper comes back to me about a minute later, raising his voice, demanding I move the engine. I pointed out that we had equipment spread out in the lanes, and we needed the space to work in. He walked over to one of the medic crew, asking who was the ranking officer on the scene. Two firefighters stood up and pointed at me,” he continued saying.

“The look on the trooper’s face was priceless. As the trooper walked by me, he stated that he WILL be addressing this later. A few minutes later, a rescue chief, and friend of mine, was on the scene, and I explained my situation. He smiled and said that he would take care of it. The trooper left me alone that night,” he said. It may be a bit surprising that rescue personnel, who not only face time-critical situations, also face difficult people.

It Happens A Lot

Even though ambulances are right almost in every situation — simply put, they save lives — you would be shocked to see just how many threatening letters they receive. In actuality, the West Midlands ambulance service has encountered, on average, at least one harassment of its employees per day.
